Nutrition sessions
Your first nutrition consultation will last an hour and it is based on getting to know each other and talking about your needs as well as your understanding of nutrition. During this session the nutritionist will take your body weight and height as well as your body fat and water percentage and she will explain what all the numbers mean. You will be asked to fill in your food and drink intake for 3 days and the nutritionist will talk about your current eating habits and ways to modify them if needed. You will then receive a detailed weekly menu planner and you can arrange a follow up session if you wish.
Fitness Testing
During the fitness test you will cycle on a bike at 20 w for 5 minutes as a warm up followed by 25w increments every 5 minutes until you are physically exhausted and cannot keep up the pedaling cadence of 70 RPM. During the test you will wear a face mask as shown in the picture below which connects to a small portable machine and measures all the oxygen used by your lungs. The amount of oxygen you use during exercise relates to your level of fitness. In this test you will also wear a heart rate belt which will allow us to see what your maximum heart rate is at exhaustion and at what percentages of your heart rate you are more efficient and will allow us to make relevant recommendations to the way you exercise.
